Listen : Santigold – Disparate Youth

Santigold‘s forthcoming sophomore release, Master Of My Make-believe, is definitely one of midnitevulture‘s most anticipated releases of 2012.

Hot on the heels of the brilliant M.I.A-channeling Big Mouth’, we now have the 2nd (3rd, if you count ‘Go’) track to be released off the upcoming release. ‘Disparate Youth’ is absolutely beautiful and is the more harmonious brother to the first single. My guess is it was produced by Dave Sitek.

The song will be released as part of a five track EP, due for release on April 8, and is set to feature remixes from Switch, The 2 Bears and Amateur Best.

In the meantime, the track is available on iTunes now, and you’ll be able to hear it performed live when Santigold — along with Sleigh Bells and Little Dragon — open for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers on their tour beginning March 29.

Give it a listen below. Amazing.

Video : Iamamiwhoami – Sever

iamamiwhoami have been a little quiet lately. Plenty of rumors around that they’re finishing an album, but who knows if that’s even true.

A couple weeks ago they released a short teaser clip for a new track called Sever and now we finally have the full song and video.

Eerie & beautiful, Sever is a gorgeous lullaby. Check out the video below to see Jonna Lee dance with the Clump monster.

Video : Oh Land – Speak Out Now

The wonderful Oh Land is back with a new single.

The track is called ‘Speak Out Now’ and is the theme song to a television series, called Rita. I haven’t heard of it, to be honest. And chances are neither have you.

That said, the track is a cute, and very listenable number.

Check out the video, directed by Sebastian Birk, below.

Video : diskJokke – Now Dance

Norwegian beatsmith diskJokke has a new single out, which he produced for the the Association of Norwegian Wind Energy.

The track, ‘Now Dance’ is a bouncy electro-funk jam. Quite different from his usual output, but very listenable indeed. It’s been released as the latest installment from Oslo-based label Splendour’s limited edition 7″ vinyl series and is available now.

Check out the cool clip, animated by Magnus Engsfors below.

Video : Niki And The Dove – The Fox

Swedish electronic duo Niki And The Dove - who you should bloody well know by now – have unveiled the official video to their track ‘The Fox’.

It’s a very cool little animated number created by wintr.us.

The track is taken off their upcoming debut LP, due for release May 14th via Sub Pop.

Check it out below.

Album Review : John Talabot – Fin

I don’t think I’ve been as excited to get my hands on an electronic release as I have been for the debut LP from Spanish producer John Talabot.

All of his EPs and singles to date have been mesmerizing, making the release if his first full length one of this year’s most anticipated albums. And I am very happy to report it does not disappoint.

Listening to this album gave me the same kind of bliss as sitting on a beach somewhere in the Mediterranean. ƒin is filled with melodies that make you feel like raising your arms and face to the sun.

A soaring collection of late night beats filled with human emotion, it gives you either a warm glow, a heady rush of euphoria or a slight sense of melancholy, depending on your listening circumstances.

At times so beautiful it almost hurts, ƒin is the work of a real sonic craftsman. I can’t recommend this album enough.

10/10
